We are a 100% private motor yacht (40m+) undergoing a bit of warranty work. Soon we will set sail in early October for Panama, where we will continue fishing before heading up the West Coast. Our itinerary includes stops in Panama and Costa Rica, followed by Baja Mexico, and ultimately Alaska next summer. The yacht will remain based on the West Coast for the foreseeable future.

Our owner is passionate about bill fishing and values an engaging, active crew.

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated candidate who has completed or is nearing completion of their Officer of the Watch (OOW) certification and is eager to build a long-term career in yachting, with aspirations to become a yacht captain – this is a growth position, you will learn hands on. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in yacht operations, a strong desire to learn, and a commitment to ongoing education. Opportunities for drive time related to docking and anchoring procedures, as well as exposure to the captain's responsibilities—including paperwork, chart work, weather routing, and customs clearance—will be provided.

A passion for fishing is essential, and you’ll be joining a deck department that consists of a Mate and one Deckhand.

Crew Environment: The owner and family are down-to-earth, and the crew enjoys active water sports such as surfing, kiteboarding, foiling, spearfishing, and fishing, along with hiking and socializing at the dock (heavy drinkers will not fit in with the rest of the team). We’re looking for a like-minded, active individual with a strong history of longevity in previous yacht positions and a commitment to long-term service.

Qualifications:

• STCW95, B1/B2 VISA, ENG1 medical, Yachtmaster or higher (OOW preferred or near completion)

• Goal-oriented with aspirations to advance to Captain

• No visible tattoos (must be covered when guests are onboard)

• Clean criminal record (we spend time in Canada and crew with criminal records are not permitted entry).

• Vaccination required

• Fishing experience.
